Description

A teacher is someone who helps students learn knowledge, skills, or values through teaching.

History of Teachers

Teachers have been around for a long time, helping people learn. In the past, elders shared important knowledge and skills. In Ancient Greece, famous teachers like Plato and Aristotle helped shape education. During the Middle Ages, monks were the main teachers, working in schools and monasteries. Then teaching became a respected job, and today, it’s an important career all over the world.

Professional path

A person who wishes to become a teacher must first obtain specified professional qualifications or credentials from a university or college. These may include the study of pedagogy, the science of teaching. Teachers, like other professionals, may have to, or choose to, continue their education after they qualify, a process known as continuing professional development.
