No setor primário, mais enraizado no interior de Portugal, incluem-se a agricultura, a pecuária, a silvicultura, a extração mineira e a pesca - esta, natutalmente, no litoral. Temos ainda o turismo que tem vindo a ganhar forte peso na economia portuguesa no século XXI.
