A tsunami arises from instantaneus movement of a large mass of water, caused by strong earthquackes whit an epicenter in the sea or near the cost , by underwater or coastal landslides, by volcanic activity in the sea or near the cost and much more rarely, by meteorites that fall into the sea,

how much destructiion it can cause

In fact, after a tsunami, large quantities of sea salt tend to deposit on the ground , which tend to accumulate and concentrate, killing existinng plants
