In the mid 1800s more Europeans arrived in search of gold .Today,Australia has a multiracial population of about 25 million people,about 2.5% is Aboriginal.

13 colonies

the first permanent colony was jamestown, in the state of virginia.Over thirty tribes of native people already lived in the territory.At first,relations with settlers were peaceful, but later there were violent conflicts over territory.

though Britain estabilished Cape Colony(today's South Africa)in 1806, most of Africa was free of colonies in 1850.
