The castle

A medieval castle was a wooden or stone building used by rulers to demonstrate their wealth and power and to provide a place of defence in times of war.

Many castles were surrounded by a moat filled with water to avoid assaults. A drawbridge was used to enter.

The towers and the wall had holes to be able to shoot at the enemy

A cistern collected water from the rain that was channeled from the wall.

The prisoners were locked in the dungeons. They were located underground or on the hightest point of a tower.

The lord and his family were located in the homage bridge. in the lower part they kept the richness of the lord.

Nobles had the passion for hunting, but they were also very keen to falconry of birds, using trained hawks.

Sentinels were placed on the wall to guard over the outside and organise in the case of an attack.
