In 1806, most of Africa was free of colonies in 1890 in the second half of the 19th century, European powers competed to take land there.
The Treaty of Waitangi

In 1840, Maori chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, making New Zealand part of the British Empire. Waitangi Day is now New Zealand's national holiday. Today, Maori and Europeans coexist peacefully in one of the world's most harmonious countries
