LOCATION

Marrakech is located in the northwest of Africa, in Morocco. Nestled near the Atlas Mountains, it serves as a gateway to the Sahara Desert. Its warm and sunny climate makes it a great destination year-round, and it’s just a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean.

HISTORY OF THE CITY

Founded in 1070 by the Almoravid dynasty, Marrakech became a cultural and trading hub. In the 16th century, it flourished under the Saadian dynasty, leaving behind iconic landmarks like the Saadian Tombs and El Badi Palace. Over the centuries, the city blended Berber, Arab, and Andalusian influences.

ARQUITECTURE

Marrakech is home to stunning architecture like the Koutoubia Mosque and Bahia Palace. Its Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a maze of lively markets and ancient streets. The city also boasts tranquil gardens, like the Majorelle Garden, and breathtaking landscapes, from the Atlas Mountains to the Agafay Desert.

2nd Day

Start your morning at the Majorelle Garden. Take your time to explore the garden’s vibrant blue structures and peaceful atmosphere. Next to it is the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, which celebrates the designer’s connection to Marrakech. In the afternoon, visit the Saadian Tombs, an ancient burial site from the 16th century. These tombs were hidden for centuries and are beautifully decorated with marble and mosaics. For dinner, enjoy a rooftop restaurant in the Medina, where you can watch the sun set over the city.

1st Day

Begin by visiting the Jemaa el-Fnaa, the main square of Marrakech. It’s a lively place filled with snake charmers, storytellers, and food stalls. From there, wander through the souks, which are traditional markets where you can shop for spices, handmade pottery, textiles, and jewelry. In the afternoon, visit the Bahia Palace, where you can admire its intricate ceilings and beautiful gardens. End your day with a traditional Moroccan dinner at a riad, which is a type of guesthouse with a central courtyard.

3rd Day

Take a day trip outside the city. You can visit the Atlas Mountains, where you can hike, visit waterfalls, and enjoy traditional Berber hospitality. Alternatively, head to the Agafay Desert, which is closer than the Sahara but still offers a desert experience with camel rides and luxurious camps. This is the perfect way to end your trip with unforgettable memories.

Food

Accomodation

Marrakech offers unique options. Staying in a riad is a must if you want an authentic experience. These traditional Moroccan houses have beautiful courtyards, fountains, and terraces. Some of the most luxurious riads have been converted into boutique hotels.
