life on land
In this presentation we will discuss about the pollution on the land caused by CO2, the causes, the consequensens and what we can possibly do to lower the polluting of the atmosphere.
Introduction
Deforestation
Air pollution
Land pollution
Overpopulation
To make a difference for the ecosystem, we can start by making small changes in our daily lives. Reducing waste, recycling more, and using energy efficiently can help cut down pollution and conserve resources. By making mindful choices and supporting change, we can contribute to a healthier planet.
CONCLUSIONS
Thanks!
Land pollution
Land pollution is primarily caused by improper waste disposal, excessive use of chemicals in agriculture, deforestation, and industrial activities. Waste from households, industries, and agriculture contaminates the soil with harmful substances, while pesticides and fertilizers degrade soil health.
Waste collection is a crucial process in managing and reducing environmental pollution. It involves the systematic gathering, transportation, and disposal of waste materials from households, industries, and public spaces.
Overpopulation
Overpopulation refers to a situation where the number of people exceeds the capacity of the environment to support them with resources such as food, water, and shelter. This leads to overcrowding, increased pollution, depletion of natural resources, and strain on infrastructure and public services.Over 2 bilion or 25% of the total world population lack access to clean drinkable water
Many countries in the world are acting to contrast the polloution by abolishing fossil fuels and choosing reneuvable sources of energy instead.
Air pollution
When we talk about air pollution we may think about the smog of the cities and the spreading of CO2 by industries and cars. The reliese of these toxic gasses make it possible for the atmosphere to absorb more heat causing global warming. But these are only the tip of the iceberg compared to all of the causes of polluting the atmosphere.
CO2 is also reliesed by our houses, heating sistems, power plants, fossil fuels and intensive farms.
Efforts to combat deforestation include promoting sustainable land use, reforestation, and enforcing policies to protect critical forest ecosystems.
Deforestation
Deforestation refers to the large-scale removal of forests, often to make way for agricultural expansion, urban development. This practice leads to the loss of biodiversity, as countless species depend on forests for habitat. Deforestation also disrupts the carbon cycle, as trees play a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to mitigate climate change. Additionally, it contributes to soil erosion, reduces water quality, and increases the frequency of floods.
