Problem description

Lower back pain in lower-limb amputees to poorly fitting prosthetic sockets. Residual limb volume changes throughout the day. Current solutions are either static or require constant adjustments.

THE UNMET NEED

Adjustable prosthetic sockets to accommodate daily limb changes. Maintain anatomical alignment and reduce strain on the lower back. Simple, user-friendly adjustments without external tools.
Four adjustment zones. Mechanical dials. Anatomical measurements customizing:
  • Limb circumference
  • Pressure-sensitive zones
  • Weight-bearing areas

The AAPS Solution

Adjustment zones controlled by dials connected to internal padding. Ensures even weight distribution and comfort. Materials:
  • Breathable, moisture-wicking fabric.
  • Pressure-mapped cushioning for sensitive areas.
