I Cretesi (Civiltà Minoica, 2000-1400 a.C.)
Dove: Isola di Creta (Cnosso, Festo). Organizzazione sociale:
- Re, aristocrazia e artigiani.
- Società pacifica e orientata al commercio.
Il territorio dei Fenici
Dove si trovavano:
- Lungo la costa dell'attuale Libano, Siria e Israele.
- Principali città: Tiro, Sidone, Biblo e, in seguito, Cartagine (colonia fenicia).
Caratteristiche geografiche:
- Coste strette tra montagne e mare, ideali per il commercio marittimo.
- Poche terre coltivabili, quindi si concentravano sul commercio e la navigazione.
