WHAT IS IT & HOW DOES IT WORKS?
Tidal power is a renewable energy produced by the rise and fall of tides.
TIDAL BARRAGES
TIDAL FENCES
TIDAL TURBINES
PROS AND CONS
CONS
PROS
1. expensive: The cost for the construction and maintenance are very igh
1. Predictability: Tidal patterns are regular and predictable compared to other renewable sources like solar or wind.
2. Disturb the marin animals: The noisens made from the turbines can disturb the animals
2. Renewable and Sustainable: it has a low carbon footprint
3. Limited location : Beacause of his specific tipe of work it can only be placed in some part of the world
3. Longevity of Infrastructure: Tidal power systems often have long lifespans (up to 100 years).
4. Difficulty of maintenance : Because the job is really difficult the workers can charge a lot for the cleaning of the turbines
CURIOSITY
The Rance tidal power station
-The Rance tidal power station, the first ever installetion; -Shiwa Lake tidal station, the largest one; -Canada has the highest tides in the world, this means... -A significant role played by the moon.
