It’s the last day of Christmas, so it’s a little sad, but the Befana makes it special!
We leave a sock for her, and in the morning, it’s full of sweets!
January 6th: Befana's Day
In Italy, we celebrate the Befana on January 6th. The Befana is an old lady who flies on a broom. She brings candy to good children and coal to naughty ones.
Carnival
Carnival in Italy
In Italy, Carnival is a fun celebration! It usually happens in February, before Lent starts. People wear colorful costumes and masks. There are parades with music and big floats. Children throw confetti and play games. We eat special sweets like "chiacchiere" and "castagnole." Venice is famous for its beautiful masks and costumes. Carnival is a time to laugh, dance, and have a great time with family and friends!.
On June 2nd the Italians celebrate the Republic Day. There is an army parade towards Fori Imperiali and flypast of the Frecce Tricolori in the skies above Rome.

Republic Day
One important festivity in Rome is Saints Pietro & Paolo's Day. It's on June 29th.
Saints Pietro & Paolo's Day
Saints Pietro & Paolo are the Patron Saints of Rome.
We celebrate with parties on this day.
