Calque Literal translation of a word from one language into another

Literal translation The literal translation of each word of a text. The target text and the source text must have the same word order, meaning and style

Transposition A shift from one gramatical category to another, while still preserving the meaning

Modulation A change of perspective, adjusting the target text to express the same idea and meaning

Adaptation The cultural elements of the source language are replaced with an equivalent cultural element of the target language
