FOR + period of time
We use FOR + a period of time. A "period" is a duration of time (5 minutes, 2 weeks...). "For" means "from the beginning of the period to the end of the period:- For 20 minutes
- For three days
- For 6 months
I have studied English for 30 years.
- For 20 minutes
- For three days
- For 6 months
SINCE + POINT
A "point" is a precise moment in time. "Since" means "from a point in the past until now": a. 9 o'clock b. 1st January c. Monday I have studied English since I was five.
