Remember! Printed journals cannot be borrowed home. Use them on site in the library.

Search results

The search results will give you a list of publications that meet your search criteria

You can use these options to save the records

Use the filters on the left to narrow down the results

Click on the title to check the location and availability of copies

Saving records and search results

You can save the whole search result list by clicking on the pin "Save query"

You can save a particular record by clicking on the pin next to it

After clicking on the three dots you will see additional options

You can copy a permalink for this particular record or send its description via email

You can use additional options to save or export the description

You can check your saved records and searches in My Favorites tab on your account

You can browse the saved records in folders based on your labels

You can add your own labels to each of the saved records

You can add RSS or set an alert for a saved search

Reader's Account

Reader's Account

Check how to log in

Once logged into your account, you can:

control your account

request books from the online catalogue

renew the due date for returning a borrowed book

save records and search results

check the availability of copies

use the online resources

Logging in

Click on Sign in

Enter your user ID: the number of your library card (your student ID)

Enter your password acquired during the registration at BUW or created during the online activation

Remember, enter only numbers without spaces!

You can find the number on your library card. It's the one on the back of your student ID, under the barcode.

Use this option if you want to change your password, or if you cannot remember it.

Account: My library card

Once you log in to your account, you will see the Overview tab. Here you can find basic information about: ✔️ borrowed and ✔️ requested items, ✔️ fines, ✔️ fees and ✔️ messages posted on your reader's account.

Saving records and search results

You can save the whole search result list by clicking on the pin "Save query"

You can save a particular record by clicking on the pin next to it

Renewal

Look for the Renew option in the Loans tab

Click Renew by the book you want to renew

When can I renew the book?

You will see a renewal confirmation with the new due date

By the renewed title you will see the new due date and the information it's been renewed

After clicking on the arrow, you will see detailed information, e.g. the maximum date until when the renewal is possible, as long as no other reader reserves it.

Online resources

In the Blocks+Messages tab you can check the information about overdue items and account blocking. Note! Returning books and/or Kindle reader after the due date, losing or destroying them will result in account blocking.

When your account is blocked, you cannot: request renew borrow and reserve books you will not see the "Request" button by the items from Closed Stacks

In the Fine+Fees tab you can check the information about fines for keeping books and/or Kindle readers beyond the due date, or for losing or destroying library materials. Note! You will only see the fine amount once you have returned all the books/readers you have held.

Fine amount:

  • 0,40 PLN per each day beyond the due date for each book
  • 1 PLN per each day beyond the due date of a Kindle reader

Complete fee list

The fine can be paid:

  • at the Circulation Desk or Selfcheck (payment by card only)
  • by bank transfer to the University's account: 69116022020000000060850087 entitled "Payment for overdue/lost/destroyed books from BUW"

Circulation Desk

Here you can:

  • borrow: Kindle readers, books from the Open Stacks and the Textbook Collection,
  • pick up: reserved books and books requested from the Closed Stacks,
  • return books and Kindle readers,
  • renew the due date,
  • pay fines

The Circulation Desk is open: Monday – Saturday 9 am – 9 pm

Pick-up Locker

Here you can pick up books requested from the Closed Stacks.

The Pick-up Locker is available 24/7

Selfcheck Kiosks

The Selfchecks are available during the opening hours of the Library.

Here you can:

  • borrow books from the Open Stacks and the Textbook Collection,
  • return books,
  • renew the due date,
  • pay fines

If you are in the UW network, you don't need to log in, you will be automatically redirected to the provider's website.

Use the options available

If you want to access from a non-university network, log in using your Reader's Account data

In the Requests tab you can check the information about requested materials, e.g. request date and pick up location

Logging in

Click on Sign in

Enter your user ID: the number of your library card (your student ID)

You can renew a borrowed book when:
  • your reader's account is valid, not blocked and you don't have any fees
  • the maximum renewal date visible in the details has not been exceeded
  • the due date for returning any of your borrowed books has not passed
  • other reader has not reserved the book

If the above conditions are fulfilled, 2 weeks before the due date, the Renew option will appear next to the book title in the Lonas tab.

In the Personal details tab you can check your data and the expiry date of your account
