6.A. Did women actively participate in the Revolution of 1789? Give examples

Yes.

  • Women played an active role in the French Revolution.
  • They contributed to the List of Grievances and led the March on Versailles in 1789 in order to pressure the King to returne to París
  • Women also formed patriotic clubs where they read and discussed the news.

The social group they belong is the poor because they are pulling a cart and the rich would have enough money to buy machinery and not have to make an effort to pull a simple car.
