Oregon State University

My name is Will Alley, I just graduated at Oregon State Uniersity and I would like to share my story about my time at OSU and what's in store for my future!

About Me

Me:

When I was studying at OSU, I learned a lot of skills that I already had such as patience, problem solving, and dependability. I also learned some sklls I still needed to develop in order to be successful such as emotional intellegence, empathy, and problem solving. I applied these lessons during my time at OSU by consciously working to improve the skills I needed, while continuing to excel in the skills I had already developed, which has helped me be a successful student and to helped prepare for my future.

My Why:

I came to OSU to study finance and chose to go here in order to gain more independence for myself. I wanted a college degree to expand my job opportunities after I graduated.

One of my biggest dreams to do in college was to study abroad, and I thought that OSU was perfect for this opportunity.

My Brand:

During my time at OSU, I have done many things that have helped expand my brand and gain a competetive advantage. One of the biggest things I did was join a Fraternity. This has expanded my network a lot and helped gain connections that I would use later in my future. Saying yes to this opportunity has taught me to take risks and meet new people, further offering me a competitive advantage from others to this day.

Risks

I have taken many risks in the past and during my time at OSU, but taking intellegent risks and stepping out of my comfort zone has aided my path and my future. I would describe myself today as responsible, driven, and optimistic, and I would not have gotten here if it wasn't for taking these risks at OSU

Adapting

Change is bound to happen, and sometimes one cannot control it, such as when I was moved facilities for my job for a higher pay rate. These things happen throughout life, and it's important to learn to adapt to these changes so we can succeed.

Overall, I am proud of all of the risks I have taken at OSU, and my ability to adapt to changes. Without these things, I would not have the brand and network that I have built up to where it is today.

My Future

OSU has already played a huge role in my life, and it continues to aid me while I am striving to accomplish my goals. A goal that I made my freshman year at OSU was to become a chief financial officer for a large company.I have several other goals I plan to accomplish, such as traveling and starting a family. With the connections i have made and the brand I have built from OSU, I believe that these goals are highly attainable.
