Other areas that could be affected on a similar scale are other coastal areas in Florida like Miami because of long shorelines and low elevation. Other coastal cities like San Francisco and New York are experiencing sea level rise.
Info
As time passes and sea levels continue to rise, the areas surrounding Tampa Bay will be increasingly affected. Eventually, flooding and the other effects of coastal erosion will continue to affect more and more inland communities. On a global scale, sea level rise is similarly deteriorating infrastructure and property worldwide. Coastal ecosystems provide many benefits like storm protection, biodiversity, and wildlife habitats. However, they will continue to be depleted due to the effects of climate change.

Tampa Bay is being affected by climate change through sea level rise and increased temperatures. Such a drastic change in sea level specifically is negatively affecting infrastructures and ecosystems. As sea levels rise and flooding becomes increasingly prominent, civilians are experiencing damage to property and being displaced. Moreover, wetland and marsh ecosystems will suffer due to an influx of salt water and will decrease significantly. In an attempt to combat these issues, Tampa enacted a Climate Action & Equity plan which aims to reduce emissions and adapt infrastructure in order to withstand and defend against flooding.
