Climate and Impact

• Phoenix, and Arizona as a whole, is a very dry and hot part of our country. Plants and animals in this area have adapted over time to this arid climate.
• Water has always been a concern for the West. As temperatures rise, droughts become more and more severe! (CRP)
• A clear example of this is Lake Powell (2009-2014) ----------------->
• Without water, life cannot survive. It is becoming increasingly difficult for plants, animals, and even humans in this area.

Hybrid and fully electric busses have been introduced to combat carbon output.

What is being done?

Hybrid Busses

New laws and regulations have been put into play which make aquiring and owning electric vehicles much easier and cheaper.

EV Policy

Just another addition of public transport in the dince inner-city which decreases carbon output.

Light Rail System

California is in the same boat!

• California, especially in the south, is also facing water shortages and drought.
• This effects this area more than it effects Arizona because most plants and animals in Az are already climatized to these harsh conditions.
• Drought is especially dangerous in California because it increases the risk of wildfires, seen in previous years.
• On a global scale, places such as Asia (expecially India) an Africa will experience worse and worse droughts.
