Similar climate change...
Like Alaska, Greenland is suffering serious consequences due to climate change. Some of these similarities are: Permafrost thawing, coastal erosion, melting ice caps, etc. This melting severely affects coastal communities and surrounding ecosystems; polar bears, penguins and seals are some of the many species that are being seriously affected by the loss of ice in the Arctic. The change in ocean temperatures can seriously affect fishing and food webs as well. The thawing of Greenland will have serious consequences on a global level, Since rising sea levels will cause severe flooding in cities such as New York, Miami, London, Amsterdam, among others. Other consequences are erosion and the alteration of atmospheric circulation patterns.

Risk of injury
Climate change has affected the safety of people in Alaska. Warming has caused ice sheets to become thinner, leading to many accidents on the ice. For example, in May 2008, three whaling crews at Point Hope were rescued after the ice broke away from the shore; another example is the increase in accidents reported by residents, such as accidents involving snowmobiles breaking through the thin ice.
Some solutions to combat climate change...
These are some of the measures that the Alaska community and the government are taking to combat climate change: To combat erosion, many villages have employed “hard armoring” techniques, such as building barriers to protect shorelines. Alaska Native communities continue to adapt their subsistence practices, adjusting timing, location, and methods of hunting and fishing to match changing environmental conditions. Many ANVs have collaborated with consultants to develop adaptation, mitigation, and relocation plans, which help communities become eligible for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding.

How climate change is affecting the health of people in Alaska
- High rates of respiratory and skin infections are a consequence of climate change; the northwestern Arctic is one of many places affected by these diseases, with pneumonia being a leading cause of hospitalisation, due to disruptions in water and sanitation infrastructure caused by climate impacts, such as extreme weather and thawing conditions, which increase the risk of infections.

Community Water Infrastructure
Rising temperatures and thawing permafrost are significantly impacting water supply services, particularly in regions that rely on surface water systems. This thawing affects both the stability of water sources and water quality. Warmer temperatures in recent years have led to increased algae growth in lakes, which has worsened water quality and caused water treatment plant filters to clog more frequently.
