Due to the topography of other countries in the Arctic, they contribute to the consequences of global warming more than Alaska could. The impacts of global warming in Alaska are likely to remain local whereas the impacts from Iceland or Greenland could lead to rising ocean levels.
The Arctic (specifically North Pole) throughout Canada, Greenland, and Iceland experience similar consequences to that of Alaska as a result of climate change. However, because their environmental conditions are more extreme, they experience even more severe signs of global warming. Greenland and Iceland even have ice sheets and icebergs whereas Alaska's "Arctic" traits are located inland and at mountains with high altitude.
Who is facing similar problems?
As it has now been established that climate change impacts environments in many ways, it is important to understand how to reduce its rate of warming in specific environments. For instance, Alaska has lost vegetation as a result of drying soils and shrinking lakes (Euskirchen). To combat this, researchers have become invested in restoring habitats in Alaska. In the meantime, implementing the use of renewable energy has been encouraged to slow the changes from climate change.
What are we doing to stop it?
As permafrost disappears, surface soils dry and increase risks for fires, lakes drain, and water chemistry of streams and lakes changes entirely (Hinzaman).
Alaska's coasts and permafrost have experienced warming of 2-3 degrees Celsius since the 1980s (Hinzman). This leads to environmental changes that impact agriculture, engineering, and wildlife.

It is clear and structured to convey information in an orderly and hierarchical manner, and to succeed in conveying the content that excites the brain. For this, animation and interactivity are two fundamental pillars.Tags, windows, links, audio... With Genially you can include any type of interactivity to add additional content and give it an animation to capture the attention of your audience.
A great presentation...
Watch out! At Genially we use AI (Awesome Interactivity) in all of our designs, so you can level up with interactivity and turn your content into something that adds value and engages.
Tip:Interactivity is the key element to capture the interest and attention of your audience. A genially is interactive because your audience explores and engages with it.
- Plan your communication structure.
- Prioritize and give visual weight to the main elements.
- Define secondary messages with interactivity.
- Establish a flow throughout the content.
- Measure the results.

As Alaska is the most northern state of the United States, it experiences more severe consequences of climate change than any other state. Alaska is also isolated from the rest of the country and its high latitude places the state in the Arctic. As a result, its environment is quite unique from the contiguous states and requires different action to reverse the damage that has been done.
