Para establecer el diagnóstico de la neumonía, es necesario acudir con tu médico y el tras una evaluación clínica valorará si tienes o no neumonía. Para complementar el diagnóstico, tu médico podrá solicitar alguno o varios de los siguientes estudios para complementar el diagnóstico:

DIAGNÓSTICO

• Examenes de sangre como Biometría Hemática.
• Radiografía de tórax
• Gasometría arterial
• PCR
• El médico podría aplicar algunos tests como el CURB 65 para valorar la gravedad y si tu neumonía requiere o no hospitalización.

CIFRAS

En 2019 han fallecido 2.5 millones de personas a causa de la neumonía, de las cuales 740 mil 180 eran menores de 5 años. En México en 2020, fallecieron poco más de 57 mil personas por neumonía e influenza y se diagnosticaron más de 127 mil casos nuevos en 2021.

AGENTES CAUSALES

Las neumonías son causadas por diferentes bacterias y virus, dentro de las que destacan el Streptococcus neumoniae, Staphylococcus aereus, Haemophilus influenzae tipo B, y virus como el virus de la Influenza, Coronavirus, y Rhinovirus.

EL TRATAMIENTO CONSTA DE

El tratamiento lo debe indicar y prescribir el médico tras la valoración de él. En general depende del agente causal, para bacterias consta de antibióticos, y para virus de antivirales como oseltamivir para la influenza y sintomático cuando es causado por otros virus, puede incluir oxígeno y esteroides en casos complicados y graves.

FACTORES DE RIESGO

Las personas mayores de 65 años, menores de 5 años, mujeres embarazadas, que fuman, alcohólicas, con enfermedades crónicas descompensadas como diabetes, hipertensión, EPOC, Asma, enfermos renales, enfermedades e infecciones pulmonares previas, enfermedades autoinmunes, VIH-SIDA, alcohólicos, multitratados con antibióticos, bajo nivel socioeconómico, en condiciones de mala higiene, no vacunadas y hacinamiento, son más propensas de padecer neumonía..

El hacer de conocimiento a la población en general y a nuestros pacientes sobre las neumonías, me parece de vital importancia, sobre todo los factores de riesgo,. Ya que muchos son desconocidos y hacer especial énfasis en la prevención. Ya que con la prevención podemos evitar miles de muertes por la neumonía. Es necesario realizar más de este tipo de infografías. interactivas y hacerlas del conocimiento público para que cobre el valor y la importancia necesaria dentro de la población en general.
