What is a heat treatment?
Heat treatment aims to improve the mechanical properties of the alloy, increase the elastic limit and reduce brittleness.

In the aircraft industry, annealing heat treatment is widely used to improve the structural and mechanical performance of aircraft. Within its varied uses we have:

Problems and incidents
Lack of adequate heat treatment can lead to several risks in aeronautics. A classic example involves aircraft fuselage. In the 1980s, Aloha Airlines Flight 243 suffered an explosive decompression due to fatigue cracks in areas of metal alloy.
