Paul gauguin

WORK DONE BY: PAOLA CAZALILLA LAGUNA

He was born 7th June 1848 in Paris, France. He died 8th May 1903 in Hiva’Oa, French Polynesia. General truth /fact: the use of bright and non-naturalistic colors, he was commonly known as "the savage" or "the wild man" Routine or habits I used to paint mainly human figures, especially women, I also address exotic landscapes, religious and spiritual themes. His works also included scenes of everyday life.

Mysteries of Paradise

DESCRIPTIONIn this painting, there are two women sitting in a kind of field, dressed in a tunic that covers their whole body in blue and white. Next to them, there is a dog sniffing the ground. The women have dark skin and long black hair. Behind them, there are several women wearing tunics of different colors. WHAT IS HAPPENING? The two women are sitting cross-legged on the floor. The first woman is looking forward with one hand on her leg, and the second woman is stroking her hair with both hands, her chest exposed. The women in the background are standing, and some are sitting with their chests exposed as well. WHAT DOES THE PAINTING REPRESENT? It reflects his idealized and spiritual vision of paradise in Tahiti. OPINION I think it is a painting that reflects the freedom of women and the beautiful landscape of Tahiti.
