History
France is known for its rich culture and history. In this country there is no single typical costume. Three of the most famous traditional costumes are the Breton, Alsatian and Norman outfits. In ancient history, the traditional French dress was simple and practical, made of natural fabrics such as linen or wool. The clothing was often hand-woven and decorated with simple embroidery or lace. The styles were influenced by the Roman and Celtic cultures and were designed to be functional and comfortable.
