Conclusion

Reducing Costs

AI predicting box office rates, personalizing marketing, and editing, can greatly decrease the cost of post-production in the film industry. The lowering of cost can help save directors money and can also open up the film industry to directors who might not be able to afford making films otherwise.

Job Displacement

AI has the potential to disrupt job markets by automating tasks, leading to concerns about job displacement. While AI can increase efficiency and create new opportunities in fields like technology and data analysis, it may also take over jobs that humans do, limiting the number of available jobs.

Conclusion

AI can be beneficial to the film industry in many ways, like reducing the costs, making the post-production stage faster and more efficient, and even predicting box office rates. Although there are many great things about AI use, there are also things to be aware and cautious of. I believe AI can change the film industry for the better as long as it is used responsibly and ethically.

Accountability

The big question when it comes to concerns with AI is who should be held accountable? Should AI be held accountable and what would that look like? Would the creator be held accountable for the programming they designed? Can the creator even be aware of all of the AI's possibilites and potential? Placing responsibility for when AI messes up is not a simple task and there is still no "right answer".

Deepfakes

Deepfakes are when AI generates or edits content like images, audio, and videos. Misuse of deepfakes can lead to the spreading of false information. Consent is also an issue to consider when deepfakes are being used. If an image is generated of somebody, should AI be required to get consent beforehand?

Editing

With the help of AI, editing film can take less time and be more efficent. AI can analyze footage, create visual effects, and help speed up and editing.

Prediciting Box Office Rates

With the help of AI, the film industry can predict the success rates of films before they even come out. AI can do this by analyzing past data, market trends, and prefrences of certain audiences.

Biases and Sterotypes

With the use of AI comes concerns about biases and stereotypes. AI algorithms are based off what is in the programming, so if the AI is trained off data with stereotypes and biases, the AI will show the same biases and can even amplify them.

Personalized Marketing

AI can help personalize marketing for new films that come out. AI could take clips from the film and turn it into a short trailer to advertise for the release of the film. With creators thoughts and ideas, AI could also help create posters to highlight the main actors, characters, or events in the film.
