Every spring, Braga celebrates the Roman influences on the city by decorating the city center with Roman-themed scenarios, featuring live performances. There is also a variety of shows involving fire, swords, etc., that take part in this celebration.
São João, a festivity where profane merges with holy, is a regional holiday in Braga and Porto. Annually, on the 24th of June, those who are religious demonstrate their faith by praying to this saint, while those who are not find in this night a pretext to party.

Local events
The Holy Week of Braga is one of the most significant and traditional religious celebrations in Portugal. Held annually, it commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ through various processions. It celebrates the final week of Jesus Christ's life, leading up to His resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Semana Santa (Holy week)
This cultural event takes over the city on the first weekend of September. During the afternoon, most museums are open to the public, providing unique activities for families. At night, young people gather in the city center, dressed in white attire, to enjoy free concerts until the sun rises.
