Psychopathic Offenders
What is defined as a psychopath?
Psychopathy is a personality disorder characterized by a lack of empathy, guilt, and remorse, as well as manipulative behavior and impulsive actions. Psychopathic offenders can be a challenge to treat due to their resistance to therapy and inability to truly change their way of thinking.
Psychopath and sociopath are often interchangeably used to refer to traits related to antisocial behavior; however, there are notable distinctions between the two.

- Pretends to feel emotions
- Manipulative behavior, narcissism, and dishonest
- Having difficulty forming true emotional attachments
- Lack of remorse but may still feel guilt and empathy

- May form close attachments to one or few individuals
