Utilizó la tecnica de Aguafuerte que permite crear sombras y texturas finas y la tecnica de Litografia que consiste en estampar un diseño que previamente se realiza sobre una piedra calcárea con lápiz o tintas especiales, para después aplicarle una tinta que solo se adhiere en las zonas que han sido tratadas con esos materiales.

Goya pintó estas obras durante un periodo tumultuoso en la historia de España. La Guerra de Independencia Española (1808-1814) contra las tropas napoleónicas había dejado al país devastado, con un ambiente de represión y sufrimiento generalizado. Esta obra refleja la brutalidad y la deshumanización de la guerra, y está cargada de simbolismo. I liked this work a lot and it seemed very profound to me, at first I didn't see much sense in it and I didn't like it very much, but when doing this work searching for information and knowing more about the work I was able to see that in a simple drawing like this one you can express situations, emotions, feelings and many more things. In my opinion, Francisco de Goya wanted to represent all the suffering that the war caused, in addition to the fact that he was going through a moment of illness and pessimism, I mean it all comes together in this work, this drawing was also a criticism of wars. In my opinion the monster seems like a kind of giant and terrifying opossum representing the war and the people are the society where you can see that they are suffering as they did at that time, the dark background of the work also generates drama. In conclusion, I have had a great time researching this work and I would like to do more work of this style, on works and artists from different periods.

Esta obra me ha gustado mucho y me ha parecido muy profunda, al principio no le veia mucho sentido y no me gustaba mucho, pero al hacer este trabajo buscando información y conociendo mas la obra he podido ver que en un simple dibujo como este se pueden expresar situaciones, emociones, sentimientos y muchas mas cosas. A mi parecer Francisco de Goya queria representar todo el sufrimiento que causaba la guerra, ademas de que estaba pasando por un momento de enfermedad y pesimismo osea que se junta todo en esta obra, este dibujo tambien era una crítica a las guerras. En mi opinión el monstruo parece como una especie de zarigüeya gigante y aterradora representando la guerra y las personas son la sociedad donde se puede ver que estan sufriendo como pasaba en esa epoca, el fondo oscuro de la obra también genera dramatismo. En conclusión me lo he pasado muy bien investigando a cerca de esta obra y me gustaria hacer mas trabajos de este estilo, sobre obras y artistas de diferentes epocas.
