South Dormitory

circa 1900

The South Dormitory was built by Adam Watson. Adam was one of the first graduates of A&T, and he complete the building in 1907. Adam was the head of the Department of Mechanics during his time at A&T. The south dormitory was one of the first structures on campus to be built by a person of color and an alum. The building was later renamed Old Vanstory Hall.

James C. Renick

Chancellor

Renick was the 9th Chancellor of North Carolina A&T State Univerity. During his administration the university experinced recored new student enrollment and new infrustructure was added to A&T. Due to these achievements I feel as though his name should replace Williams Dining Hall. This is a place that is commonly visited on campus. So everytime a student or vistitor sees his name on the sign in front of the building his legacy is not forgotten.

Cameron Morrison

Morrison Hall was built in 1924 and was orginally a residence hall for male students but now houses women. The building was named after Cameron Morrison, a US Govenor and State Representative. The name Morrison was removed from the building in 2020 due to the racist history of the name.
