Introduction

Artificial intelligence is advancing quickly, transforming many aspects of our daily lives. However, its rapid growth also brings up important questions about ethics and regulation. In this presentation, we’ll discuss why it’s crucial to guide AI development with ethical principles and clear regulations to make sure it has a positive impact on society.

ETHICS and regulation

Why is it important?

AI ethics are important because AI technology is meant to augment or replace human intelligence but when technology is designed to replicate human life, the same issues that can cloud human judgment can seep into the technology.

+INFO

  • Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) refers to AI systems designed to make their decision-making processes clear and understandable to humans. Instead of working like a "black box," where inputs go in and outputs come out without explanation, XAI allows users to see how and why the AI made a specific decision.
  • For example, if an AI model predicts a patient’s risk of disease, XAI would identify the key symptoms or test results that influenced that prediction. This helps people trust the system, improves accountability, and ensures fairness.

01

Responsability

Responsibility in AI means making sure that people and organizations creating or using AI are held accountable for what it does

02

Privacy

Privacy in AI is about protecting people’s personal information

03

Job losses

AI is changing the job market, especially for jobs with repetitive tasks like data entry and telemarketing, which are at high risk. However, AI can also create new roles, particularly in sectors like healthcare and finance.

Why regulation is needed

01

SAFETY

AI systems can cause harm if not properly designed or controlled. Regulations can set standards to ensure that AI is safe to use, preventing accidents, errors, or misuse, particularly in high-risk areas like healthcare, transportation, and autonomous vehicles.

02

TRUST

For AI to be widely adopted, people must trust it. Clear regulations can help ensure that AI is transparent, accountable, and reliable. This builds confidence among users, businesses, and governments that AI systems will act as expected and won’t cause unexpected harm.

03

FARINESS

AI has the potential to amplify biases in decision-making, such as in hiring or lending. Regulations can help ensure that AI systems are designed and tested to be fair, promoting equality and preventing discrimination based on race, gender, or other factors.

CONcLUSION

ENDING

Artificial intelligence has great potential to improve our lives, but it also poses ethical and social risks. Ethics help us use AI in a fair and responsible way, while regulation ensures its safety and benefits for everyone. Without these measures, we could face issues like bias, discrimination, and a lack of trust. That is why it is essential for us to work together to build a future where AI is inclusive, fair, and safe.
