Where does the blue whale lives?

The blue whale lives in the Atlantic Ocean and in the Northern Pacific Ocean. The nearest point from Europe where you can find her is after Iceland , more specifically in Spitsbergen and in Jan Mayen but even here it's really rare seeing them because the average population of blue whales in the northern Atlantic Ocean is from 600 to 1500 blue whales. In winter even scientists don't know where they go.

What does the blue whale eat?

The principal source of food for the blue whale is the Krill, a shellfish more known with the name of antartic Krill and it s one of the most abundant animal species in the world. Beyond the Krill her diet it s based on copepods and plancton or zooplancton that are species that vary from an ocean to other.

The blue whales are in danger because in the seas where they lives every day there are many boats that praticeses fishing. So this animals risks to be cutted by the propellers or to be striked by the boats. The whales that survived goes away from there and migrates in Antartica but there they don't have any resources of food. Another reason is that in the XIX century there was the whaling so many blue whales died, and now there are only less than 100000 blue whales left.
