PORTUGAL
Introduction
Located in the Iberian Peninsula, Western Europe, Portugal shares borders with Spain and the Atlantic Ocean, where the archipelagos of Azores and Madeira are located. Due to its location, Portugal once played a major role in the Age of Discoveries. Although it is one of the smallest countries in the EU, its population density (114 people per km2) is slightly higher than most EU countries.
