Technology Tool To Support Student Engagement
Built on the science of reading, Lexia® Core5® Reading is a research-proven program that accelerates the development of literacy skills for students of all abilities, helping them make the critical shift from learning to read to reading to learn.
- Lexia Core5 uses adaptive technology to tailor instruction to each student's skill level
- Data-driven insights save time and support differentiated instruction
- Core5 incorporates game-like activities, such as puzzles, matching games, and interactive tasks, making learning fun and stimulating
- The program's design motivates learners, particularly those who might struggle with traditional methods
Visual Support for Lexia Core 5
Student engagement is associated with positive learning outcomes (Carini, Kuh, and Klein, 2006).
Findings from studies have revealed when instructional technology has been deployed in the classroom there is a positive correlation between the use of educational technology and student engagement, (Chen, Lambert, & Guidry, 2010; Nelson, Laird, & Kuh, 2005).
Computer usage is of high interest for students, which can assist in student engagement, aid in positive attitudes toward learning, and provide a medium for deliberative practice and feedback along with customizing the learning experience (Hattie, 2009)

Closure/Key Concepts
We are able to understand images from millions of years ago, even from other cultures.
We have thousands and thousands of stories. Two-thirds of our conversations are stories.
We need to interact with each other. We learn collaboratively.
