Call to Action

The shortage has impacts such as: reduced access to swimming lessons: Fewer teachers mean fewer available lessons, limiting children's and adults' opportunities to learn to swim. Increased drowning risks: A lack of swimming proficiency contributes to preventable drownings, particularly among children. Fall in overall well-being

I have proposed the idea on combining efforts to improve teacher quality with initiatives to address the global teacher shortage

Teacher Shortage breakdown

In England according to the BBC 660,000 children did not have the opportunity to learn to swim due to the lack of teachers

Consequences

Limited opportunities for children to participate in competitive swimming Strain on existing swim teachers Economic impact on swim schools and lesuire centres: Missed opportunities for water-based activities such as boating, kayaking, and surfing. Increased reliance on lifeguards Increased pressure on parents to teach their children to swim Limited opportunities for individuals with disabilities to learn to swim Reduced awareness of water safety.

By substituting the recruitment focus on experienced professionals with a wider pool of candidates, including ex club swimmers , retirees, and those with relevant lifeguard experience . We can help those who are in lower GDP countries have the chance to learn to swim with a whole load of benefits along the way, e.g saving lives, making careers and general fitness of the world population.

There aren't enough swim teachers worldwide, making it harder for kids and adults to learn to swim. This shortage means fewer people can enjoy the water safely, which can be dangerous. Schools and councils play a key role in supporting swim programs and encouraging people to become swim teachers.

Our brain is wired to consume visual content. Some data: 90% of the information we process comes through sight, and we process visual content up to 60,000 times faster than text. That's why visual communication is more effective.

Visual content is a universal, cross-cutting language, like music. We are capable of understanding images from millions of years ago, even from other cultures.

Reverse the trend of declining swimming participation by promoting the benefits of swimming and water safety to a wider audience.

Eliminate the reliance on outdated teaching methods and embrace innovative approaches to swimming instruction which could be targeted that all centres strictly follow swim englands framework to ensure effiencent teaching is practiced

Put the expertise of STA instructors to other uses, such as developing water safety campaigns, providing community outreach programs, and supporting research into drowning prevention.

Pose a dramatic question; it's the essential ingredient to hold the audience's attention. It's usually posed subtly at the beginning of the story to intrigue the audience and is resolved at the end.
