Ludivine, Yalda, Emma, Iris, Lisa, Lina, LilianPresentation : Intro * Our project is an escape game * We decided to create an escape game because it’s both entertaining and engaging. It allows people to explore and reflect on biology in an interactive way, without feeling like they’re simply studying. * It provides an opportunity to deliver information on a specific topic in an enjoyable format, enabling participants to learn while having fun. The escape game focuses on topics from the UE : Replication, the cell cycle, transcription and translation. Additionally, we incorporated new information to introduce players to CRISPR-Cas9 and the potyvirus. Présentation du jeu : * Read the introduction of the game : Reading the 1st page (not the rules)* The rules of the game are quite easy : * Players need a smartphone, an internet connection, and a paper folder. The folder is designed to be easily printable, ensuring that anyone with internet access can participate. * A session should last approximately 30 minutes, although the exact duration depends on the team's problem-solving efficiency. * Players must solve enigmas, to obtain information on given definitions about the course material so as to access to the protocol. * To succeed, players must combine their knowledge from BIO331 with new information they’ll discover during the game.

Course material involved: The game focuses on several key parts of BIO331, highlighting essential concepts while integrating additional biology-related content. This extra material is carefully chosen to be both useful and interesting, encouraging players to deepen their understanding. We chose CRISPR-Cas9 as the focus because it’s an incredibly fascinating technology with a transformative impact on biology. It connects to various topics covered in the BIO331 course. Now we are going to go quickly through the game : Explanations of 1st part of the game Explanation of the end of the game We decided to use the website rakura because very convenient to create escape game online, we can use it to make enigmas Why this game is a good candidate for pedagogical challenge : * This game offers the opportunity to have fun while learning BIO331 and CRISPR-Cas-9 concepts * The players must learn and understand concepts of biology to complete the game * The game is adaptable: definitions and puzzles can be modified for each session, making it customizable to the students’ specific areas of interest or difficulty. ()Comment on s’y est pris pour faire ce jeu : * We first searched what support do, we thought of video game, board game, and finally escape game * We organised 3 meetings at the library with the 7 of us, one first to brainstorm and have a first idea of the game, then a second where we gathered ideas to create the puzzles and the third one to test the game* Emma gave the idea of the Rakura website that really helped to create the shape of the game * After that each one worked on a part of the challenge and we put all together to complete the game Each team member contributed to different aspects of the project, including: * Thinking about the puzzles that can be implemented * Creating the game materials. * Researching relevant articles and supporting content.
