Global Competitiveness: The digital age pushes businesses to improve quality and efficiency, benefiting consumers by providing better products and services.

Negative impacts

It benefits terrorists by offering tools to organize, communicate, and spread their ideologies globally. For instance, social media platforms and encrypted communication tools make it easier for terrorist groups to recruit members, plan attacks, and share propaganda. Technologies like drones and 3D printing have been exploited to create innovative weaponry, while livestreaming capabilities have been used to broadcast attacks, amplifying their psychological impact​

Positve impacts

On the other hand, technology also supports counterterrorism efforts. Advanced surveillance tools, data analysis, and artificial intelligence help law enforcement agencies detect and prevent attacks by analyzing vast amounts of data for suspicious activities. Innovations like latent fingerprint recognition and improved surveillance systems strengthen investigations and improve response times. However, the constant evolution of technology presents challenges, as terrorists adapt quickly to new tools, requiring continuous updates to counterterrorism strategies​.

Disadvantages

• Information Overload: While access to knowledge is a benefit, it can also lead to misuse or confusion when people consume too much without reflection.
• Erosion of Community: Over-reliance on digital connections can weaken in-person relationships and reduce the sense of local and political community.
• Spread of Harmful Content: The rapid sharing of information can lead to the spread of questionable or harmful ideas before society has time to assess them.

• Passive Consumption: Digital media often promotes passive engagement rather than active critical thinking, affecting how people process and respond to information.
