Similar Expercience in chad
In 2022, Chad faced its worst floods in 30 years, displacing over a million people and devastating many farmlands. This exacerbated the already severe food insecurity, prompting the president to declare a state of emergency and seek assistance from humanitarian organizations. Mosquitoes that can carry diseases including dengue fever and malaria spread to other surrounding areas encouraged by warmer temperatures and heavy rains.
Because of the floods efforts have been made to build and repair more dykes throughout heavilly affected areas in South Sudan. Many places have also been trying to build back roads so families can go back to their homes and livelihoods.
Repairs
Frequent flooding have forced many families from their homes leaving them without enough sustainance. In addition, all the floodings have destroyed many agricultural farms causing severe food shortages.
Due to rising global temperatures South Sudan have had unusually intense rains. The change in temperatures affects weather patterns. These intense rains come right after an extreme drought causing devastating floods. Because of the frequent flooding it has also lead to other affects that will be covered in other sections.
The government and other help groups have aided through programs and services designed to help the families. There have been work on expanding work on groundwater mapping and system management which will help bring clean drinking water. The ministry of heath with support from WHO have also helped through giving vaccines to some areas not just in South Sudan but other areas affected from mosquito borne diseases.
Program & Services
Lack of proper nutrition from food shortages along with the floods have led to disease outbreaks. Water from floods created an environment for mosquitos to thrive leaving many people to get malaria and other mosquito borne diseases.

Supplies from vaccines, clean drinking water, and food have been delivered to many families devastated by the floods. An emergency team from the World Food Programme (WFP) has so far distributed urgently needed nutrition supplies to more than 70,000 vulnerable people.
Supplies
The floods have forced families to relocate to higher ground but without enough food, clean drinking water, and face threats to mosquito borne diseases. Relocation also affect kids who go to school and these relocations are constant causing cycle of despair for parents and the family as a whole.
