INTRODUCCIÓN

En este trabajo se explorará la vida y obra de Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer, centrándonos en su contexto histórico, el movimiento literario del Posromanticismo y su influencia en la literatura. Analizaremos sus principales obras, como las Rimas y Leyendas, y cómo sus temas y estilo marcaron una transición hacia nuevas corrientes literarias. También se destacará su legado y la huella que dejó en escritores posteriores.

Contexto Histórico y Social

El siglo XIX en España fue un período de inestabilidad política, marcado por las Guerras Carlistas y la alternancia entre monarquías y repúblicas, con una sociedad dividida entre una burguesía emergente y clases populares empobrecidas. Madrid creció como capital moderna, pero con grandes desigualdades sociales. El Romanticismo llegó tarde a España, destacando por su tono introspectivo y melancólico. Mientras en Europa se centraba en lo político, en España se exploraron temas como el amor, la muerte y el pasado histórico. Bécquer, representante del Romanticismo tardío, capturó estas emociones en un momento en que el Realismo empezaba a predominar.

Movimiento Literario

Bécquer pertenece al Posromanticismo, una corriente que surge en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX como una evolución del Romanticismo. A diferencia de este último, que enfatizaba la exaltación de los sentimientos y lo sublime, el Posromanticismo apuesta por una expresión más sobria, introspectiva y melancólica. En las Rimas de Bécquer se observa un lenguaje sencillo pero cargado de simbolismo, donde temas como el amor, el desengaño, la soledad y la búsqueda de lo trascendental adquieren un carácter universal. Su poesía se aleja del tono grandilocuente del Romanticismo temprano y se enfoca en la intimidad del "yo lírico", abriendo camino a las corrientes modernistas que llegarían a finales del siglo XIX.

Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer nació el 17 de febrero de 1836 en Sevilla, en el seno de una familia de artistas; su padre y su hermano Valeriano fueron destacados pintores. Quedó huérfano a temprana edad, lo que marcó profundamente su sensibilidad. Fue educado en Sevilla, donde comenzó a mostrar su inclinación por la literatura y el arte. A los 18 años se trasladó a Madrid, con la esperanza de alcanzar el éxito como escritor, enfrentándose a constantes dificultades económicas. Trabajó como periodista y escritor por encargo, y colaboró en publicaciones como El Contemporáneo, donde dio a conocer parte de sus obras.
