GRAMMAR SCHOOL HISTORY

Norwich School traces its origins to the founding of grammar school in 1096 by Herbert de Losinga, first Bishop of Norwich.In 1538, the school was separated from its cathedral foundation.The school was refounded as King Edward VI Grammar School in a royal charter granted by Edward VI dated 7 May 1547.

IMPORTANTT DATE IN SHAKESPEARE'S LIFE

1571 at age 7, Shakespeare likely began attending King Edward VI Grammar School.

1572–1577 these are considered Shakespeare's formative academic years. During this period, he likely studied: Latin Grammar,Classical Texts, Rhetoric and Composition

1578Shakespeare likely left school at age 14.his education probably ended prematurely due to financial difficulties in his family. His father, John Shakespeare, faced debts and legal troubles during this period.Shakespeare may have been required to help his father making gloves.

This is the front of the King Edward VI School. We can see that the outside of the school have a particular pattern. This pattern is typical of the british houses in fact also the birth house of Shahspeare have the same stripes in wood.
