How INGEN created a dinosaur despite the fact that they have been extinct for millions of years. The starting point is to find media that could contain dinosaur DNA. The DNA has to be sequenced, completed, replicated and inserted back into an egg cell that could read the dinosaur DNA. Where did IN-GEN discover dinosaur DNA? The DNA for dinosaurs was discovered in a cave on Isla Sorna. A mosquito that had dined on dinosaur blood was sealed in hardened amber. Amber is a gemstone that is formed when tree resin hardens. The dinosaur blood was then extracted from the mosquito and used to extract DNA in the lab. The problem is that there were gaps in the DNA strand for the dinosaur. The DNA was not complete. Why did they use frog DNA? The holes in the dinosaurs’ DNA strands were filled with DNA from a frog. The reason is that some frog species from West Africa can change sex in single-sex environments. This sex-change mechanism exists to ensure the survival of the species, if one sex ends up being eliminated or in short supply.
