Other island nations and sates, like Hawaii, are at risk of large evviromantal changes due to a rise in sea level. Being surrounded by the ocean, many of these islands rely on outside action to turn things around.
The country did attempt to have other nations in the UN to take climate change more seriously. Unfortunalty, due to how close Tuvalu is to sea level the main solution was a treaty made with Australia to accept climate-refugees as the sea levels rise.

impacted Area
Tuvalu is an island nation in the Pacific comprised of nine islands. Due to rising sea levels, plants have less space to grow, which causes an increase in fishing in the ocean for food.

Hawaii: Rising Sea Levels
While Hawaii is a Pacific Island like Tuvalu, it has much higher elevations which can be used temporarily as future development space for people to move to as sea levels rise. Hawaii's rising sea levels can also be directly attributed to El Nino's increased strength, which is attributed to climate change. However, this would decrease the amount of farmland and wildlife habitat the island has due to its' limited space. If climate change continues as it is, Hawaii and other nations/states will soon follow is Tuvalu's path.

Solution/Reaction
Scientists predict with the current speed of sea level rising, that the nation of Tuvalu could be completely underwater in the next 25-50 years. The most vulnerable areas at the moment are those in closer range of cyclones and El Nino's path. The main solution from the nation was to create a ready with Australia to allow for climate refugees to enter the larger country. Tuvalu has also prepared a digital map of the islands to continue the teaching of its history and heritage once the island is gone.

Tuvalu: Main Island
Population: ~11,500 Income: Selling use of .tv to a Californian company in exchange for a yearly sum. The use of fossil fuels and other greenhouse-emitting activities from other nations is causing sea levels to rise, which leaves Tuvalu extremely vulnerable. The island has less farmland and increased salinity in the remaining soil, which causes the nation to rely on foreign aid frequently. *BBC News
