Gender Equality
Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and therefore also half of its potential. But gender inequality persists everywhere and stagnates social progress. On average, women in the labor market still earn 23 percent less than men globally and women spend about three times as many hours in unpaid domestic and care work as men.

goal 5 aims to achieve equal opportunities between women and men in economic development, the elimination of all forms of violence against women and girls (including the abolition of forced and early marriages) and equality of rights at all levels of participation.
Violence against women is something that should never happen. It's heartbreaking to think that in today's world, so many women still face abuse and mistreatment. No one deserves to be hurt, no matter their gender. We all need to respect each other, and understand that every person has the right to feel safe and valued. It's important for us, especially young people, to speak up, raise awareness, and make sure we support women who may be suffering in silence. Ending violence starts with all of us changing how we think and act toward others.
