INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN 25TH NOVEMBER 2024

Gender violence is a controversial issue that we must combat. If punishments against those horrific crimes were more severe, those tragedies would not occur so frequently. All kinds of violence against women such as physical, sexual, psychological or economic are highly rooted in society. Nevertheless, its eradication could be possible by fostering education and conciousness. The law to combat violence against women should be more severe. Taking decisive action against these acts of violence is essential to ensure the fundamental rights of equality between women and men.

1. Körperliche Gewalt

Gewaltvolle Handlungen, durch die physischer Schaden zugefügt wird.

Beispiele: Schlagen, Treten, an den Haaren ziehen, Würgen, Beißen, mit dem Tod bedrohen, Ermorden...

1. LA VIOLENCE PHYSIQUE

1. PSYCHOLOGICAL VIOLENCE

It can be any kind of violence or aggression without physical contact which causes great emotional damage. Acts such as humiliation, control, indifference, infidelity, insults are suffered in silence by the victims and cause emotional harm like insecurity fear, loneliness, depression, low self-esteem and suicidal thoughts.

La violence psychologique est un abus oú il y a des menaces verbales et des contraintes contre d'autres personnes pour abimer quelqu’un. Par exemple, le gaslighting est une pratique avec laquelle un intégrant d’une couple peut manipuler émotionnellement à l'autre

2. Digitale Gewalt

Gewalttätige Handlungen, die im digitalen Raum, beispielsweise in sozialen Medien oder Online-Portalen, stattfinden. Dabei zielen digitale Angriffe hauptsächlich auf Bedrohung, Herabsetzung, Rufschädigung und Erpressung der betroffenen Person ab.

Beispiele: Direkter Zugriff auf das Mobiltelefon, Online-Stalking (unerwünschte Kommunikation über E-Mails, Telefon, Messenger)...

3. Sexualisierte Gewalt

Jede Handlung, durch die eine Person belästigt oder gegen den eigenen Willen zu einer sexuellen Handlung gezwungen wird, zu der sie nicht ihre Zustimmung gegeben hat oder die Einwilligung nicht erteilen kann.

Beispiele: unerwünschter Körperkontakt, unerwünschtes Versenden von pornografischen Inhalten, Vergewaltigung...

3. VIOLENCE ET HARCÈLEMENT SEXUEL

Economic violence against women consist of controlling and limiting their acces to economic and financial resources with the intention of subjagating them and limiting their autonomy. Many women are forced to remain in abusive relationships, damaging their self-steem and affecting mental health.

4. Economic Violence

Economic violence is a form of abuse that, while less visible than others, has a devastating impact on a person’s autonomy. This type of violence involves controlling and limiting someone’s financial resources with the intent of subjugating them, depriving them of financial independence, and often their ability to make decisions about their own life.

Beispiele: Manipulation, Beleidigungen, Kontrolle, bewusstes Ignorieren, Verbieten von Kontakt zu Freundinnen und Familie...

4. SYMBOLIC VIOLENCE
