La distruzione della città di Pompei avvenne nel 79d.C.L'eruzine , inizia nel pomeriggio del 24 agosto e provocò il crollo della colonna eruttiva . Questo evento catastrofico avvenne perché non ci furono grandi segnali allarmanti otre a piccoli terremoti.Ed è grazie a Plinio il giovane e alle sue lettere che è stata ricostruita tutta la vicenda .

QUANDO e DOVE : -79d.C (una volta si pensava che la data fosse il 24 agosto) -Pompei era un'antica città romana situata in Campagna, vicino alla città di Napoli
LE FASI: -fase esplosiva (serie di esplosioni che causarono l'apertura del condotto vulcanico) -fase di collasso della colonna( inizio dei primi flussi piroclastici) -fase dei flussi piroclastici (fase finale dove si formò una miscela di gas cenere, e vapore che travolse la città
LE CONSEGUENZE: -morte degli abitanti(causata dall'intenso calore e dallo shock termico) -modifica del paesaggio -riscoperta
vittime e TESTIMONIANZE
VITTIME E CAUSA DI MORTE - traumi da crolli -soffocamento - numero di vittime :20.000 abitanti tra qui 1.500 di resti ritrovati. TESTIMONIANZE: Le testimonianze più famose sono calchi in gesso che ricreano la forma dei corpi delle vittime . In oltre sono stati ritrovati resti scheletrici di persone morte in diverse circostanze.

ritrovamenti e scavi
I primi ritrovamenti furono nel 1599 .Uno dei ritrovamenti più importanti furono i calchi dei corpi , realizzati da Fiorelli.Gli scavi portarono alla luce case ,botteghe ed edifici pubblici. La maggior parta dei edifici conservavano affreschi colorati e mosaici. In oltre sono stati ritrovati numerosi oggetti di uso quotidiano come vasi , ceramiche , mobili e strumenti da lavoro e documenti .

É una domus di epoca romana , sepolta durante l'eruzione del Vesuvio.Rappresenta uno dei massimi esempi dell'arte romana del I secolo , è il nome proviene dal proprietario,Aulo Vettio Restituto e Aulo Vettio Conviva.

TRICLINIO:Le sale da pranzo ,dove i proprietari e i loro ospiti prendevano i pasti . OECUS:La casa dei Vettii ospita un celebre salone,l'oecus,noto per le sue ricche decorazioni pittoriche. ALTRE AREE: La casa include anche ambienti di servizio e altre stanze , come l'androne e il grande peristilio che ospita anche una fontana .
