Geometry Project

Degree / Master's Title

By Hayden Ruplin, Reese Yacovett, and Abigail Cornett

Problem:

Show that four copies of the trapezoid below can be fitted together to form a similar trapezoid.

Trapezoid A:

We started by identifying the measurement of each angle in Trapezoid A.

Trapezoid A and Trapezoid B have the same angles, which makes them similar trapezoids.

We drew a parralel line through the the center of the original trapezoid

Now Trapezoid A is similar to Trapezoid A, B, and C.
We divided Trapezoid B into three equal trapezoi des then solved for the angles.

Trapezoids A, B, C, and D fit together to make Trapezoid A. Trapezoid A is similar to Trapezoids A, B, C, and D.

Thank you!
