What is the PRC?

The Portuguese Red Cross is a humanitarian institution that was funded at 11/February/1865 and it is a part of the Red Cross International Movement that as the objective of defende the peace and the human dignity.

What does the PRC does?

On PRC they offer a lot of difrent volunteering like: -Teach Portuguese to a refugee family. -Save lives by becoming an ambulance crew member or a local first responder. -Reading stories to a bedridden patient, encouraging them to recover. -Help a person in prison to prepare for their reintegration into society. -Put your logistical skills into practice in food warehouses and other donated goods. -Raise awareness among adolescents about alcohol abuse and other consumption. -Raise funds for causes and projects. -Or even occupy a leadership position within the organization.

How to become a voluntary?

Some of the requirements are: -Commitment to and respect for the Organization’s-Fundamental Principles and humanitarian values -Availability to actively participate in the project, volunteer area or initiative in which you will collaborate -Spirit of initiative, willingness to work as a team, proactivity and resilience -Willingness to develop personal, social and professional skills -Motivation to contribute to the organization's mission of protecting life and promoting human dignity in the communities, particularly the most vulnerable

What are the benefits?

-On a personal level, volunteering promotes more responsibility, maturity, respect for rules and personal gratification because helping others is also good for ourselves.-At a professional level, volunteering is an opportunity for specialized work, with no return purpose, it enhances the development of new skills and promotes new knowledge. -On a social level, volunteering allows the development of relationships, creation of new contacts, new friendships, playing an active role in the community and also allows you to make a difference in the lives of people who depend on this support.
