Dawncrest
The Realm of the Rising Sun
Dawncrest is a fascinarting place. Woven into the pocket of reality where the sun crests over the world as it rises, this realm feels like sunlight materialized. The people are pacifists, only wishing to praise the sun in peace. A stark comparison to their counterparts in Duskcrest.
Nicest way to say prison I've ever heard...
Isle of Solitude
The Isle of Solitude is one of many free floating isles around Dawncrest.
According to the Dawnites, this island is for those who "lose touch with the Sun". Basically, this is their way of saying delinquents. I won't call them criminals, though, because ultimately there is no crime here.
You should have seen the way that made Syn's eye twitch hehe...
Lumire is the capital city of Dawncrest, which I find a bit moot given there are next to no Dawnites who live anywhere outside of it. The architecture is immaculate though. The Dawnites explained that everything we see was carefully and lovingly formed from the Aetra enriched rays of sunlight that bathe this place. There is a little glint in everything you look at, a reminder of the sun and its warmth that is woven into every creation.
The radiant capital of Dawncrest
Luminous Lumire
The Luminous Capital in its glory.
I noticed Lumire has no religious symbolism about, as if they all just understand the sun watches over them.
Even though we were told we may roam freely, there are segments of Lumire and Dawncrest we can't go...
Syn says something about the Dawnites's peacful demeanors puts them on edge, as if it is too perfect here.
In the material plane, The Shard slicd open the fabric of reality in an unseamly manner. Upon arrival though, we stumbled through a grandoise portal. I'm no mage, but I'd imagine The Shard is linked to this regardless of where one travels from.
Our Arrival Point
The closest thing this island has to a "sea". The realm floats in an abyss of pure Aetra. It's so pure that even I, a non-mage, can feel a connection to it. It is so...comforting, like a blanket draped over your shoulders on a winter's night.
The Aetra Abyss
A holy site for those who are worthy.
The Sheathe
The Sheate is the aptly named holy temple where The Shard is usually housed. It is the only place in Dawncrest that is actually guarded. Caretakers are stationed there around the clock to polish the glistening stone if is crafted from. I won't call them monks because all Dawnites worship the same "religion", if you want to call it that.
But if they worship the sun first and foremost, why have a temple dedicated to The Shard?
