I will now tell you some of these reasons
Climate change
My name is Antonio Tufo and today I will talk about climate change
Climate change is dangerous for a variety of reasons
Rising global temperatures
Mortality and disease: Heat waves increase the risk of heat stroke, respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, rising temperatures favor the spread of infectious diseases, such as those transmitted by mosquitoes (for example, malaria and dengue), which spread to new, warmer areas.
Heat Waves: Rising average global temperatures lead to longer and more intense periods of extreme heat. This not only puts people's health at risk, especially vulnerable ones such as the elderly, children and the sick, but can also cause heat-related illnesses and thermal stress.
Rising global temperatures
Perdita di terre e infrastrutture: Le città costiere e le isole, come le Maldive o le città lungo la costa orientale degli Stati Uniti, rischiano di essere sommerse, causando danni economici incalcolabili e minacciando la sicurezza di milioni di persone.
Sea level rise: Global warming causes the melting of glaciers and polar ice caps, resulting in sea level rise. This severely threatens coastal areas, which are often densely populated and economically vital. Coastal flooding can destroy homes, infrastructure and agricultural areas, forcing millions of people to migrate.
Melting glaciers and rising sea levels
Malnutrition and food insecurity: The impact on agriculture poses the risk of food shortages and increased prices of staple foods, resulting in greater poverty and malnutrition in the most vulnerable areas.
Agriculture compromised: Higher temperatures and extreme weather conditions negatively affect agricultural production. Droughts reduce crop yields, while floods can destroy agricultural land. Furthermore, climate change alters seasonal patterns, making crop planning difficult.
