The cargo tanks of an LNG ship are the main elements of stowage. These tanks are designed to keep natural gas in a liquid state at very low temperatures (-162 °C). They can be of membrane type or moss type.

Ballast tanks are compartments within a vessel that can be filled with water or other materials to provide stability, control, and balance to the ship.

ESPACIOS CONFINADOS

La nomenclatura de los espacios confinados en el contexto de buques de GNL (Gas Natural Licuado) se refiere a la identificación y clasificación de áreas específicas dentro del buque que presentan riesgos debido a su diseño, acceso limitado, y las condiciones ambientales que pueden estar presentes. Estos espacios son críticos en la industria marítima, especialmente en el manejo de GNL, que es altamente inflamable y puede generar atmósferas peligrosas.
